I’m David Pye, a senior software engineer with deep product instincts, enterprise delivery experience, and the range to move from polished frontend work to backend systems and AI-driven workflows.

Frontend polish, backend execution, automation depth, fast product learning.
From a young age, I’ve had a passion for creating innovative solutions. Through valuing feedback and consistently improving, I’ve developed into the engineer I am today.
Strong fit for teams that need ownership, versatility, and momentum.
A mix of enterprise engineering fundamentals, modern frontend execution, and the kind of AI and automation curiosity that helps teams move faster.
This is hands-on experience across enterprise software, automation, prototypes, and customer-facing functionality.
Built and shipped enterprise automation features in C#/.NET and TypeScript for robotic process automation workflows used by customers across 10+ business sectors. Owned feature design and implementation throughout the whole SDLC from requirements through release, partnering with product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver customer-facing enhancements. Performed code reviews and helped maintain engineering quality across shared codebases.
Contributed to robotic automation tooling and developer experience improvements as part of the Pega Robot Studio engineering team.
Contributed across installer tooling and legacy platform support while building strong engineering fundamentals in a production environment.
Built a proof of concept for a next-generation messaging platform using React, Java, microservices, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and MongoDB to support multichannel customer notifications.
Plant 54 | Collaborative Innovation Manufacturing — owned work across web apps, embedded projects, and experimental systems.
Plant IS | Business Intelligence — analyzed data and built reporting tools for the call center.
A strong portfolio should show taste, execution, and range. These projects are positioned to show all three.
A polished personal branded website.
A photography delivery platform with private galleries, admin upload tools, mobile-aware gallery performance improvements, and client-focused UX.
A kanban-style dashboard mockup for an agentic engineering workflow: backlog, in-progress, and review columns with per-card detail views showing agent timelines, branch info, and notes. Built as a zero-dependency vanilla JS SPA so it can drop straight into a portfolio.
Built a machine learning plant identification mobile app as part of university coursework, using a custom-trained model and Swift UI to identify plant species from a live camera view.
Built a smart chess board that lights up to show legal moves when a piece is lifted, using an Arduino, C++, 3D Printing, and LED lights to create an interactive physical chess experience.
Built an online storefront bakery website with AWS and Node.js
Education matters, but what really stands out is how quickly that foundation turned into real product work across internships, co-ops, and full-time engineering roles.
Relevant coursework: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Machine Vision, Data Structures, Algorithm Analysis, Intro to Database Systems, Operating Systems, Computer Organization and Architecture, Technical Writing.
I’m especially interested in roles where strong engineering, and AI curiosity can be used to pave the future.
